There is no need to worry. you can attempt mains again in april. the application form will be released in febuary 7 itself. You can start preparing well from now and do well in that exam.
Even if you do not want to attempt again, there are a lot of colleges in India that take admission based on their own exams and there are colleges that take admission on basis of merit as well.

see there is no pass marks allotted for jee main exam, however there is certain qualifying score which you need to bring to appear in jee advanced exam if you are an iit aspirant and want to do btech course from iits. to achieve a good score is inportant unless you may not get chances to admission in btech course in top ranked institute in india.
