Hii,

B.tech students are not eligible for KVPY exam. One should enrol in the 1st year of the undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology. B.tech is an undergraduate course in technical study. So one should be studying in the first year for B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S to apply for SB stream in KVPY.

Hope it Helps!!!

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

Yes, definitely you can give as the SB stream has been implemented for the students enrolled in the first year of their undergraduate program in the subjects related to basic science.

The requirements for the you to be eligible under this stream are:

  • You should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 12th standard board examinations
  • You should score at least 60% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in the first year final examination of the respective degree in science.

Note:

Additional fellowships are operated exclusively for the students belonging to the SC/ST community and similarly, fellowships are also operated exclusively for the students belonging to the PWD category (physically and visually challenged) in the  Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY).

Thank You & All the best!

No you are not

Only students persuing pure science courses like Bsc are eligible for that or the students of class 11th and 12th with PCM are eligible for that. If you want to go for research then you can give GATE exam and do masters from a good college like IIT from there you can get into research.
