If length, force and time are taken as fundamental quantities, what would be the dimensional equations of (i) mass (ii) density?

Assume L, F and T denote the dimensions of the proposed fundamental quantities length, force and time, respectively.

  1. Force = mass ×acceleration


∴ Mass= force/acceleration= F/LT -2 = L -1 FT 2


  1. Density= massVolume= L -1 FT 2 /L 3 =L -4 FT 2
