In 2019, approximately 11 lakhs students appeared for NEET. For 2020, as many as 15 lakhs students registered for NEET. And your rank in the merit list is calculated by your total NEET score, Category and the cut offs for specific Categories. If all these are same for 2 students, then the tie breaking situations are considered, This is where the rank is impacted because with those many Candidates appearing for NEET, the chances that 2 students scoring the same marks are high. And Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.
