As per the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, the National Exit Test (NEXT) will be introduced three years after the implementation of the act. NEET PG entrance exam for the year 2020 was held on January 5, for admission to 19953 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 10821 Masters of Surgery (MS), 1979 PG Diploma seats. NEET PG result has been has been declared and the counselling for 50% AIQ, Deemed/Central colleges will be held in March. NEET PG scores will also be considered for admission to 1338 DNB CET seats in various hospitals across India.

Implementation is expected to be done within a stipulated period of 3 years from the date of pass of nmc bill.

If the NEXT exam comes in place of NEET PG exam , it will be applicable from the next academic year. Therefore, the batch of 2015-16 will become the first batch to give this exam, as they will be completing their final year in 2020.
