Greetings Nandini!

Hope you're doing great.

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct admission through JEE Main 2019 to participating NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Candidates will be required to register through three channels of CSAB 2019 which are NUET (for North-Eastern States and Union Territories), SFTI (Self Financed Technical Institutes) and UT (Supernumerary Seats for Union Territories). It is important that candidates first check the complete eligibility criteria of all the channels and then only proceed to fill the application form of CSAB 2019 through the respective channel.

Those candidates who will register for CSAB will have to fill their choice of colleges and courses in the order of their preference. The seat allotment of CSAB 2019 will be done on candidates’ JEE Main merit, choice filling and seat availability.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2019 with valid scores.
  • Domicile: Candidates need to belong to the above-mentioned States and Union Territories.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates should have obtained a minimum 75% marks or should be in top 20 percentile in their class XII exams as conducted by their respective boards.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories need to have 65% marks in the same criteria.
  • Qualifying Subjects: The marks secured in the following subjects will be considered -
  • Physics, Chemistry, (Mathematics, a language (if the candidate has opted for more than one language, the language with higher marks will be considered), and any subject other apart from above four.

This is how the seat allocation process takes place through CSAB:

  • Registration – First and foremost, candidates will have to register using their JEE Main 2019 roll number and password.
  • Choice filling and locking – Proceeding to it, candidates will be required to fill their choice of colleges and courses in the order of their preference. The choices could be edited, rearranged and changed before the last date for locking. It is important that candidates lock their choices otherwise their last saved choices will be automatically locked and considered for admission. They must also take a print out of their locked choices for future reference.
  • Allotment of seats – The authorities will allot seats to candidates on the basis of their ranks, choices filled and locked and seats availability. For candidates who will be selected, they will have to download their allotment letter and also take a print out of the same.
  • Reporting and document verification – Candidates with allotment letter will have to report at their respective reporting centre with original documents for verification purpose and also pay the requisite counselling fee.

Hope this will help. Do reach out in the comment section below if you need any help.

All the best! Cheers!
