Hi Aspirant!

As we all know,

Mole fraction of solute + mole fraction of solvent = 1

In aqueous solution of NaOH, solute is NaOH (sodium hydroxide) and solvent is water (H2O). In the question given above it is mentioned that mole fraction of NaOH (solute) is 0.2

By the equation written above,

0.2 + mole fraction of solvent (water) = 1

Therefore, mole fraction of solvent = 1- 0.2

And, thus, mole fraction of solvent is 0.8 (option d)
