Solution : Given: $p^{2} + \frac{1}{p^{2}} = 14$
we know that,
$p^{2} + \frac{1}{p^{2}} = (p + \frac{1}{p})^{2} - 2 \times p \times \frac{1}{p}$
$\Rightarrow (p + \frac{1}{p})^{2} - 2 \times p \times \frac{1}{p} = 14$
$\Rightarrow (p + \frac{1}{p})^{2} = 14 + 2$
$\Rightarrow (p + \frac{1}{p})^{2} = 16$
$\Rightarrow (p + \frac{1}{p}) = 4$
Now cubing both sides, we get:
$\Rightarrow (p + \frac{1}{p})^{3} = 4^{3}$
$\Rightarrow p^{3} + \frac{1}{p^{3}} + 3 \times p \times \frac{1}{p} (p + \frac{1}{p}) = 4^{3}$
$\Rightarrow p^{3} + \frac{1}{p^{3}} + 3 \times 4 = 64$
$\Rightarrow p^{3} + \frac{1}{p^{3}} = 64 - 12$
