It should not be a problem as long as you can justify the gap. Be ready to justify this as you are very likely to be asked about it in the interview.
All the best!
No, this 1-year gap doesn't affect much in your selection process. Of course during your interview round they might ask you what you were doing these two years. If you are able to convince them with a logical answer that justify your actions then there won't be any problem at all.
With your decent academic records and a good performance in CAT, you will definitely able to crack a top institute like IIMs.
As you have enough time to prepare then I will recommend you to make sure you clear all your basics and make them strong. For good performance, strong basics are essentially required. Along with this you can also start attempting lots of online mock test which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come
up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.
All.the best for your preparations!!
Please suggest me
But, this is not a very big reason to worry, as I already said that you can do something fruitful to quote that you weren't idle in those one or two years.
It would be best, if you get some industry exposure and experience. It could be job of any kind but an industrial exposure adds great value to your CV.
You can also join some diploma courses of any language, or software programming or marketing or finance or operations or HRM or anything pertaining to MBA so that you can claim that since you were interested in that domain, so you wanted to do a little research and get a better understanding before joining a B-school. If not these, then any diploma programme of your interest.
A good utilisation of the years, will benefit you and strengthen your stand.
All the best!!
