As per the Supreme Court order, the eligibility criteria for NRI seat aspirants are: One of the parents of the student should be an NRI and shall ordinarily be residing abroad as an NRI. The person who sponsors the student should be a first-degree relation and should be residing abroad as an NRI.
Candidates must belong to the categories - Indian Citizens, NRI ( Non-Resident Indian), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). They should belong to Andhra Pradesh / Telangana (directly or indirectly).
An NRI can only apply under NRI Category and not under General Cateogry. The Categories like General Category, EWS, OBC,SC,ST are confined to Indian Nationals appearing for NEET based on the constitutional .
In the NRI quota, the average annual tuition fee is roughly Rs 25 lakh per annum. For the management quota, the average fees are around Rs 11 lakh though it varies from Rs 4 lakh in private colleges in West Bengal, which is uncommon, to Rs 18 lakh to Rs 20 lakh in states like Karnataka and Rajasthan.
