Being an Non-engineering candidate also you can have a good career if you know coding but without any degree it can be a concern. For example, many companies releases notification for the job opening but they often gives notification for the Graduate students in any discipline. So having any degree can be helpful in some cases along with the degree can help just to cross the eligibility.
Now without degree if you want to go for the coding jobs, I would recommend you to opt for the internship and then on gaining experience you will get PR in different companies.
