if we mix water and alcohol what is the product formed ?
The alcohol first of all starts dissolving in the water and leads to the formation of a homogenous solution. So now you cannot differentiate between water and alcohol as well. They combine together with the help of hydrogen bonds. You can get more knolwedge when you reach to Alcohols,Phenols and Ethers chapter of 12th Chemistry.
Best wishes. Thank you.
Hello there!
Greetings!
Mixing of water with alcohol is not a chemical change/reaction so no new product is formed , rather when you you mix alcohol with water, then molecules of alcohol make hydrogen bonds with the water molecules. The alcohol dissolves in the water to form a homogenous solution, which cannot be distinguished anymore, so what you get is a homogeneous solution of water and alcohol.
Thankyou
