IIEST , Shibpur is the second oldest engineering college in India and stands at a rank of 19 by NIRF in 2019, making it one of the top eligible colleges for pursuing Engineering in India. The placements in both colleges are highly popular in terms of companies visiting and the average salary but then we also have to consider which NIT campus we are comparing IIEST to. If we are going to talk about top NIT campuses in Warangal, Trichy, or Surthakal then surely the placement rates are higher. But compared to other NIT branches, IIEST Shibpur surely has a greater chance of providing better placements.
