Most of the IIts and NITs accept M.Tech admissions on the basis of a valid GATE Score. GATE or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understandinf of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. However, students who have their UG engineering degree from IIT with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are exempted from having a GATE Score.
