See basically in every IIT there is quality education and it also depends on student too how he/she is recieving the knowledge. And regarding your query you can go with both IIT with your mentioned branch, it depends on you know with which college you want to go with. Let's compare both the colleges

1. Campus IIT KGP > IIT K (though difference not that much)

2. Faculty qaulity, IIT K > IIT KGP (few faculty members at IITK in electrical branch are highly qualified, great innovaters and educaters)

3. College Fest - IIT KGP > IIT K (though both have huge auro and plethora of events in their college fest)

4. Placements - Almost all old IIT's have similar placements record, though officially no one releases the data

5. Campus life - IITK > IIT KGP

6. Academic Pressure - IIT K > IIT KGP (though both are eqaully intense)

Hence, both are great colleges, any option would be no less than fantastic

Though, if I would be in your place, I wuld had preferred IIT KGP

Both IIT Kgp and IITK have a similar campus and are good and at par. There is no as such difference between the two except that IITK is more focused regarding academics and particular with grading system.

Otherwise both offer similar placements only.
