IIT Kharagpur is one of the oldest IIT Institute in India. It has an excellent placement cell as all the IITs. Almost 85% percent students got placed in previous few years. Hey there!
The placement is percentage is almost 75% in the mechanical engineering branch of IIT Kharagpur. The average package is around 12 LPA. Top recruiters are usually Mercedes, Tata Motors etc .
The highest salary offered is around 32 lacs based on previous years data and the lowest being 7 lacs.

It also depends on what type of company you will get, for example there are many mechanical engineering students who get placed in investment banks like Deutche and Barclays and they offer package ranging from 50-70LPA.
