Hello,

You need your class 10th original certificate at the time verification at the Passport Office that you have selected. You can either get a custodian certificate issued by the institute duly attested or write a letter to provide your class 10th certificate for a while for the application of the passport. A custodian certificate is a document issued by the Principal as a proof that you a student studying in that particular institute and that your certificates with them. It is a valid document to provide at the time of document verification at the passport office. The other way to obtain the certificate as mentioned earlier is by writing a letter addressing the principal for permission to collect your class 10th certificate from the concerned authority for the sole purpose of document verification at the passport office.
