I'm a B.Sc Biotechnology student. What should I choose after graduating? I like to take Medical Biotechnology in M.Sc but many discourage me
Biotechnology has huge scopes for unlike the conventional science subjects like Botany and Zoology it is the amalgamation of different aspects of science that would help you explore life with different scientific approach.
There is so much that you can do after B.Sc in Biotechnology. You may go for M.Sc and PhD courses like Masters of Science in Applied Biotechnology,Animal Biotechnology ,M.Sc in Industrial Biotechnology,M.Sc in Marine Biotechnology,PG Diploma in Biotechnology and many more. You may even get jobs in private, biotech companies.
As you mentioned you are interested in MSc in Medical Biotechnology, then it's eligibility criteria is to have either B.Sc in Life Sciences or B.Tech in Biotechnology.
Just remember a thing with hardwork and patience you can get through all the odds.Dont let others decide things for you. Be sure of your calling and work accordingly.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Dear Raphael, If you want to pursue your studies further, you can study Masters in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Forensic Science/Bio Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Cell Biology/Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics/ Agriculture/ Food Technology/Animal Biotechnology/ Bio Physics/ Computational Biology/Biostatistics/ Genetics/ Marine Biotech/ Nano Biotechnology/ Plant Biotechnology.
If you want to start a career, you can start off as a Research Intern in R&D (Research and Development) jobs/ R&D Interns in Govt. Sectors/Accademic jobs in Private or Govt. Colleges/ Quality Analyst Jobs/ Clinical Research jobs/ Production jobs in Pharmaceutical companies.
If you are employed as a Research Intern in a Govt. Sector, the average salary is from Rs.9000 to Rs. 12,000. In the private sectors, the salary might range from Rs.12,000 to Rs. 20,000. The package increases as does your experience.
