Try reading these books for your CLAT preparation:
English Including Comprehension:
You will be tested on your Vocabulary Usage, Comprehension Ability, Selecting Words/Phrases, Error Detection, Rearrangement, General Usage, etc.
1.Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis:
This book helps you in understanding the basics and will teach you as many as 2500 words. There are several exercises in this book and with practise you will learn how to use a word in a certain context. You will also learn how to speak English grammatically correct.
2. English is Easy by Chetnanand Singh:
This is book has been known to have helped students score high marks in General English in many competitive examinations.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs:
You will be given passages derived from news, magazines and other non fiction material. Each passage will be followed by a series of questions that you need to answer. The topics might be around Arts and Culture, International Affairs, Contemporary events, Historical Events and Legal reasoning. Nothing beats than your News Papers and News Channels for keeping yourself updated with the current happenings.
Legal Reasoning:
Here again, you will be given a passage related to facts or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. You need to identify and infer the rules and pricnciples set in the paragraph and apply the same to various fact situations.
Butterworths LexisNexis is a good choice here. It provides information with important legal reference and tax reference materials.
Legal Reasoning: You may have to recognise an argument its premises and conclusions. Read and identify the arguments set in the passage. Critically analyse patterns of reasoning and assess how conclusions may depend on evidence.
Mathematcis will be at basic level so try to brush the simple formulae from your 10th to 12th books.
