I'm a science student and I want to take arts after passing 12. What are the disadvantages of changing my stream from science to arts?

No disadvantage at all.
Ypu shpuld choose streak of your preference and choice and excel in career which you lov ethe most.
You shall not face any problems, onky thing is you need to complete formalities and also score relevnt cutoff marks for Colkeges offering Arts.
You might need to work hard though as you shall not hav eclear fundamental of subjects in Arts however that can be solved by sufficient practice.
