Hello dear,
If you look at the syllabus of GPSC you'll find that a major part of it based on History, Political science, geography etc. with special reference to the state of Gujrat.
There are two stages in the exams
*Preliminary exam
*Mains exam
The preliminary exam has two papers, General studies 1 and General studies 2 and is multiple choice question type wheres mains paper is subjective type.
In this paper you need to know about history of India, cultural heritage, polity, international relations, general aptitude, geography, economics, science etc.
As this exams covers wide range of subjects so no matter which stream you go for in college you'll have to read other subjects too. Having said that, in my opinion taking humanities in your college can provide you an edge as you can go for subjects such as history, polity, geography combination etc which would help to attain a grip over major part of your gpsc syllabus.
