I'm a student of 1st sem and I've choosen english as a honours subject! being a newbie in semister I don't know whats text books I required or I should read , how can I prepare myself. if anyone can help me in this matter! then please help me. I'll be greatfull to you. thank you

The books which you should read in your 1st semester for English hons. course depends entirely on the syllabus which your institution follows. I would recommend you to wait till your class starts and then the Professors will themselves inform you about the books and tell you about the related reading material.

Till then you can read some interesting novels related to your preferred genre.

You can consult your school authorities regarding the syllabus and the prescribed books. But for improving your grammar and english listen and read english books,podcasts and other things to improve you english skills.

• Take help from your class notes and critical essays. Class notes are very essential because they give you different perspective than the material which is available online.
• Correct grammar and spellings are a must! -- Being a English Honours student correct grammar and spelling is a basic thing which is expected con you when you frame your answers. Incorrect use of grammar and spellings will definitely make you loose a bunch of marks in your exams.
