Hello Aspirant,
Hope you are doing well. As per your query let me tell you that with pcmb combination you are definitely eligible for JEE mains as you have maths in your intermediate. If you have studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths (as additional) then you can give JEE mains.
As you took pcmb combination in your 11th standard in wbchse board then as per I know you can't change it in 12 th standard. You can also contact with the respected authority of your school in this matter.
Hope it will help you
Thank you.
Hello aspirant,
I hope that you are doing absolutely great.
With reference to your above mentioned query I would like to tell you that if you have opted for PCMB ( Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology) in your class 11th and wish to drop Biology in class 12th as the subject then you can simply do that by simply writing an application form for the same.
But, I would like to suggest you that if you can handle the burden of all these 4 subjects , then you shouldn't drop biology as the combination of both Maths and Biology can open wide opportunities for you in fields of engineering and Medical and you can give both if the exams - JEE mains and NEET. So, the chances for you to get qualify in any of the two examination is more. So, choose wisely.
OR IF you think that you can only do Engineering , then you should definitely drop Biology and focus primarily on JEE mains Examination.

This free eBook covers JEE Main important chapters & topics to study just 40% of the syllabus and score up to 100% marks in the examination.
See to be eligible for JEE-Main you must have Physics and Mathematics as your compulsory subject of 10+2 along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from any of the recognized central or state board and if you have Biology as an additional subject then there is no harm in that and also if you want you can remove it if you don't have interest in it because Biology is nowhere necessary for JEE.
There are some criterion which you need to satisfy in order to appear for JEE-Main so let us discuss them.
1--- Age criteria :- There is no age limit to appear in JEE-Main but note that there might be the age limit in any particular institution taking admission through JEE-Main score, so you should keep this thing in mind.
2--- Qualifying Examination :- To be eligible for JEE-Main one should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject from any of the recognized central or state board.
3--- Year of qualification :- For JEE-Main 2022 only those candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or 2022; or those who will be appearing in Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2022, would be eligible to appear.
So if you follow all above criterion then you are definitely eligible for JEE-Main.

Good Luck!!
Dear Archak ,
If you have Physics, Chemistry and math as compulsory subjects , then you need not to worry. Generally , as per JEE MAIN eligibility , you need PCM combination in your 12th(for b.arch ), PM with Bio/ other voc sub) for B.Tech and compulsory math for B.Plan . Now, as you have taken Biology in 11th so that you have to continue to study this subject in 12 also..
If you wish, you can appear for NEET exam too .
