The government of India has introduced the 10% reservation quota for the economically weaker sections of society in educational institutes, jobs, etc. This reservation is exclusive for the general category (or those not covered under the already present reservation like SC, ST, OBC). Criteria:

• Family income below Rs 8 lakhs
• Agricultural land (owned) is below 5 acres
• Residential flat is les that 100 square yards (200 in some)
