I'm completing my diploma mechanical, what are the best colleges for B.tech mechanical 2year entry (lateral entry)? Doing my diploma in GTU (Gujarat Technological University) switching to another university will it create some kind of problem?

Hey,
First of all, there won't be any issue if you switch from GTU to another board while lateral entry. Just that, the university in which you are seeking admission allows the same.
Now about admissions, you can either give JEE mains and get admission in IITs or you can enter a good college through lateral entry.
IITs don't give admission in 2nd year directly, you will have to start from the first year itself.
Talking about good Colleges, you can take Admissions in Gujarat itself if you want. Some of the good colleges in Gujarat are as follows:
Other than these, you can get Lateral entry into the following colleges:
Universities may have their own entrance examination for admissions. The general eligibility criteria is that you must have completed your diploma with 45-50% score with mathematics as subject.

Hello Sarvagya,
after the diploma you have a chance to get into the IIT's and not NIT's
and the IIT Bombay is currently the best college for the mechanical engineering.
apart from the IIt's the other colleges say,
1.(MIT,pune) Geit gunupur, punjab institute of technology etc..
