I'm confused between MECHANICAL & IT Engineering can suggest me some possible scope between them??Which will be better for job opportunities
Hi Pritam,
It is well known that mechanical engineering is one of the earliest and core branches in the world whereas Information Technology is a relatively new course in engineering. Comparison between these two branches would be like comparing apples and oranges. However, it is seemin the recent years that the demand for mechanical engineers has decreased due to various reasons like emergence of digital era and modernization of industries. Similarly there has been an increasing demand for computer science and information technology engineers due to the current era of internet and networking. But you have to always keep your interest first because change in demand for a particular branch is a cyclic process, sometimes one thing will be more in demand than the other one whereas at other times it will be opposite. So you must keep in mind your interest and passion while choosing your branch. According to me if you have to choose between these two then go for mechanical but if you have an opportunity to take computer science, then choose computer science over information technology.
Good luck!
Hello greetings
Definitely there are more number of jobs in IT sector compared to mechanical engineering and in terms of salary you get the IT sector is very good compared to mechanical engineering in IT sector if you are from a premier College then you can earn it in the starting salary of 15 lacs per annum but in case of mechanical engineering the salary as fresher or not get high and only few candidates get salary comparible to IT sector and also it is required experienced people in mechanical industry therefore over the experience your salary will definitely increase and also there is opportunity of government jobs in mechanical engineering.
Hope this helps all the best
Dear Pritam
Both mechanical and IT industry have vast opportunities in their own fields. I would suggest not to take up a course based on its scope though it might be one of the selecting factor but rather chioch it based on your interest . If your interests are towards automobiles , machinery and so on choose mechanical and if it is software industry you want to work for choose IS or CS course . Both mechanical and Computers are good courses so select them based on your interest.
Regards
But in other hand if you do mechanical engineering then you have more scope.....
Listen to your mind & then take good desicion.
Best regards for your future....
