I'm currently in 12th Arts and i have a lot of interest in social sciences and I dream of becoming an IAS officer. What should I do?
After your 12th grade you can do graduation in any field from any recognised university and can start your civil services preparation.
Good Luck
Hello Aspirant, in order to become an IAS officer, you must apply for Civil Services Exam(CSE) conducted by the UPSC. You must also crack the exam (preliminary, mains and interview) in order to get selected for the training.
The basic eligibility criteria required to appear for this exam is- candidate must possess Graduate degree from a recognised University/institute. So technically, 12th passed students can't appear for this exam right after 12th. However, you may start off CSE preparation by focusing on current affairs, making notes (related to current affairs) and reading newspaper daily. Also having Arts as a subject may help you in further preparations.
Best of Luck!
