Hello,

If you're currently in 12th standard then there is more than a year to go for CLAT 2022, so to give your best to both boards as well as CLAT, you have to balance the both by maintaining a proper schedule, when it comes to preparation for CLAT I would say start off in a steady and consistent manner, to brief you about CLAT the entrance test is conducted for two hours having 150 MCQs from sections such as comprehension-based questions from English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning,Quantitative Techniques . Each question is for one mark, and 0.25 mark is deducted for each incorrect attempt.

As I said above you have to make a proper timetable for that you need to bebe acquainted with exam pattern and syllabus which you can check out at https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2021/ug-syllabus.html and devote time to each section accordingly.

Next, comes choosing the appropriate study materials in order to initiate your preparation, some of the recommended books are as follows-

General Knowledge and Current Affairs:

For covering the dynamic portion, make a habit of reading newspaper everyday, this is very important, though you can refer monthly magazines like Pratiyogita Darpan but newspaper makes you aware of latest happening in regular manner and you don't have to mug up everything at the last moment prior to appearing for the exam, yes after going through newspapers you can refer this magazines or various competitive exam sites for which apps are also available as supplement regarding this in terms of revision, for static portion refer lucent's gk that's the best option.

Legal Reasoning: Refer any of the following

  • Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning by A P Bhardwaj
  • Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by Pearson.

Logical Reasoning: Make your self familiar with the concepts first, and practice in consistent manner, practice is the only key to do well in this section , you can refer any of the following books:

  • Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal
  • Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey

Quantitative Techniques: you can go through NCERTs in order to build the fundamentals in case it's not clear, other than this you can go through  Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal,.

Language Comprehension:

you can use Wren and Martin for grammar, and Norman Lewis's Word Power Made Easy to build vocabulary, also reading editorials section of The Hindu and The Indian Express will help you greatly in order to grasp the comprehension part along with enriching your vocabulary

For the time being you can start off with English and Current Affairs as in terms of focusing the dynamic portion, yes there is considerable amount of time left to prepare for this section, but just make a habit of reading newspaper on a daily basis which will help you tremendously in English and Current Affairs sections, as and when you get spare time as I said make a proper timetable go through the other sections which requires consistent practice.

You can also go through the official website of CLAT UG  at https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/ to know more detailed information regarding sample paper, question paper format, and other essential aspects regarding the exam.
