See, you are preparing for NEET. It is not a regular exam. It takes courage for one to prepare himself/herself mentally, physically, emotionally and psychologically for the exam. If you are not on the right track, it might take a severe toll on your mental, physical and emotional health. Regarding your dilemma that your parents don't know about you using Instagram, it's not a big deal. You need to realise that your parents are just your well wishers. They just want the best for you to happen and are just a part of the process. They have their own ways of showing care and affection. If they ask you not to use social media, it's because they believe it might distract you from your preparation. And I cannot disagree with that. Social media is just a means of superficial and short lived entertainment. It is not something that should be promoted. In such case, you should be the one guiding yourself. If you feel you are wasting much time on social media and it isn't helping you in anyway, not even letting you relax, you should immediately quit it without any second thoughts. Because there are cases where these apps have increased anxiety and stress levels in children. You can start a hobby like playing badminton or cycling for an hour, you can play chess or you can even paint. As long as you are able to balance out everything you are good to go. Also, overthinking will not help you anyway. Stop yourselves if you feel it's too much.
Hope this helps you
Best wishes for your future:)
Dear aspirant,
It is never good to cut something off completely from your life. It'll only make your mental health bad. It is okay to use instagram as long as you maintaining the balance. Balance is the key. Eventhough, I wouldn't recommend social media as a healthy recreation, it is fine as long as it doesn't overwhelm you. Schedule break times and make this a small part of your break time. Do other activities like playing, pursuing your hobbies during your break time. It is not wrong to be on social media as long as you are responsible and controlled. Strike a balance and talk to you parents about what all you want to do in your break time. This will help you get rid of the guilt as well.
Hope this helps.
