I'm currently pursuing BE with 7GPA across first 6 semesters. I have 95% in 10th & 89.80 in 12th. I gave CAT but my score is going to be low. I have a job offer from EY (one of big 4). What is the optimum work experience I should have from EY to improve my chances of getting a call from top colleges
Palash, this is an amazing academic profile that you put up over the years. With this kind of marks, we seriously doubt you would have a low CAT score. Neverthless, most IIMs atleast look for work experience of 36 months. If you are in your final year now and you have appeared for CAT and you have an offer from EY, you will need to put up atleast 3 years before you plan on getting into an IIM. We have 20 IIMS and each IIM shortlists candidates for the interview stage based on their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interviews. Performance in the CAT examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs It shouldn't be more than that for IIM Ahmedabad. Here we shall try to help you with the selection process of IIM A,B and C.
