You can apply for apprentice posts. They recruit diploma holders for that posts..

Hello,
No, diploma students are not eligible to write the gate examination. According to the eligibility criteria, Candidates should have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree (M.Sc) in any relevant science subject or must be in the final year of the programme.

To apply for gate, either you should be in your dinal year of btech or you should have completed btech.
