Hello

You should not worry so much about dropping a year. Dropping a year is not a very big deal if you either intern somewhere or add anything valuable to your resume.

Getting into an IIT is indeed a very difficult task. The competition is very tough and the seats available are limited compared to the aspirants.

Do not let such statements affect you.

You have two ways to go about it.

1. If you have attempted JEE once and you do not have the required score, you can apply for the NITs and get admission in one of those.

2. The second option is to drop a year and prepare harder and give JEE again.

JEE has two rounds - mains and advanced. You can give the JEE mains three times but JEE Advanced can be attempted only twice in consecutive years.

You need to keep this technicality in mind before making a decision.

If you can attempt this year, then you should put in the hard work and attempt to crack the exam.

If you really want to get an admission in any of the IITs, then you need to work harder. For IITs, one has to clear both JEE main and JEE advanced. Then on the basis of your rank, you are eligible for a seat in any of the IITs.

If you really want this, you should start working and sit for JEE this year.

If you are not able to clear the criteria, then you can take a drop year and intern somewhere or apply someplace else. It is a stigma of the society that a drop year only means negative things. A drop year can provide you with time to prepare more for your future prospects.

Do not lose hope. IITs are one way to go about in your career, there are a lot of different options also available that one can avail.

I hope that you are able to fulfill your dreams.

Thank You

hello aspirant,

why are you worry about it , you can attempt jee advance twice in year  if you fail in first attempt you have another chance to write and you will be eligible to write jee mains in the next year also and if you qualify in jee mains you only eligible for NIT colleges so prepare well for advance in first attempt only

all the best

thank you.

Hello Aspirant,

You can attempt Jee Advance only twice in consecutive years. So, if you do not qualify Jee Advance this time then you will not be eligible to appear for this in the next year. You will be elgible to write Jee Mains in the next year also as you can give Jee Mains three times. But with Jee Mains you cannot get admission in IITs you will only get chances for NITs. So, if you are really passionate about IITs then you have to qualify Jee Advance this time only along with a good score.

Good Luck !!!
