Hello

There are a lot of colleges that you can target with a percentile over 85. However the selection depends upon your GDPI and past profile basis.

Some of these colleges are-

IMI New Delhi
IMT Ghaziabad

Well, this happens to be a decent percentile and looking into the last year's trends, there have been calls sent to students with 90 percentile as well from IIMs in order to meet their diversity index.

One thing to put forward here is that, a three months experience will not be considered a valid work experience and you will be considered a Fresher only in that. However, this will definitely add to your knowledge and you can talk about it in your interview.

Next, coming to the best colleges for operations management :

*IIM Calcutta

*IIM Lucknow

*IIM Bangalore

*NITIE Mumbai: Last time cutoff was 90+ for general category (however the last candidate to be admitted in general category had 97 percentile),  75 percentile for NC-OBC, 65 for SC/ST/PWD.

*SJMSOM, IIT Bombay:Expected cutoff is 97+ for general category, 90+ for NC-OBC and 80+ for SC /ST/PWD

*VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur:The cutoff was 90 percentile for general category, 80 for NC-OBC, and 75 for SC/ST/PWD

*DMS, IIT Delhi : Cutoff percentile was 90 for general category (however the last student to be sent call for GD-PI process had 96 percentile and the lowest conversion percentile in general category was 96.3), 90 for NC-OBC  and 80 for SC/ST/PWD.

*Fore School Of Management: Cutoff was 88.5 percentile for general category, 79 percentile for NC-OBC and 68 percentile for SC/ST/PWD

*DOMS, IIT Madras: Cutoff for general category was 98.5 percentile. However,  here merely getting a high percentile is not enough. A lot of emphasis is given to past academic performance as well.

Another good college for operations management is:

*SIOM Nashik: intakes students via SNAP not CAT.

I hope you have filled the form for admission into IITs as you ought to fill a separate form for these colleges.

For any other query, feel free to ask.

All the best!!

I answered you particularly about IITs because you are interested in IITs and above all, you will clear their cutoffs and might get calls for GD-PI as well, however the final conversion will lie in your hands. Nothing is impossible. With a very good interview, you can definitely impress them and then your percentile would not matter much.
Other than that you stand a good chance in colleges like
*MDI, Gurgaon
*IMT, Ghaziabad
*DoMS, IIT Madras
*Fore School of Management
*Department of Industrial and Management Engineering, IIT Kanpur
*IMI, Delhi
*TAPMI, Manipal
*K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research , Mumbai.
Looking into the past year when trends are now changing in all the B- schools, they are looking for diversity, people with different insights, so you never know you might land up in your dream college even if it's cutoffs have been high.
Focus on GD-PI, your percentile is decent enough, you will land to a good B- school.
All the best!!

Dear Aniket,
Cracking CAT is all about smart practice. People say to practice because, the concepts for any question in CAT will remain the same forever, only the pattern, the way of asking the question and the difficulty level might differ each year. So if you are currently in your 4th sem, and you are about to give CAT in your 5th sem, then yes you can start practicing now. I will tell you few major concepts to be covered and then looking into your awareness of those concepts and ability solve them at the current stage, you can aptly decide your time when to start.
1.) VA-RC:
*Reading Comprehensions pertaining to topics like science, philosophy, sociology, economics, nature, politics, etc
2.)DI-LR: Graph based and reasoning questions.
3.) QA: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, modern maths,(probability, set theory)
You can refer to books of Arun Sharma,Nishit Sinha &after enough practice start giving mock tests online and analyse them.
You can also coaching centres
All the best!!
