Hi, yes you can get admission to DU for M.A English course, depending on whether you meet the eligibility criteria, your marks in B.A and your performance in the entrance test.

Eligibility Criteria for DU MA English Entrance 2019

There are two ways admissions are offered to MA English programme at Delhi University. The first, which is also compulsory for all, is the entrance mode. The second mode is direct merit-based admission entry to MA English course.

MA English Entrance based admission 2019

• Minimum 45 percent (for OBC 40%) in BA English Honors from Delhi University Or, at least 50 percent (for OBC 45%) in any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in India
• For SC, ST and PwD minimum passing marks in the qualifying examination. Minimum passing marks in DU MA English Entrance 2018 is 30%, 27% for OBC and for PwD, SC, and ST no minimum marks.

Direct Admission (Merit-Based) for DU MA English Entrance 2019

• Minimum 60% marks in BA English Honors (54% for OBC from Delhi University 2015 onward.Seats reserved for SC, ST, and PwD will be offered in the order of merit list for respective categories.

Exam Pattern of DU MA English Entrance 2019

The DU MA English Entrance 2018 will be the complete objective exam (which will have multiple-type-questions). Hence, you will need to prepare for it effectively with detailed study in order to crack it.

Following are the details of MA English Entrance exam:

• Maximum marks: 100
• Type: MCQ (multiple type questions)
• Mode: pen or pencil
• Questions: 100
• Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Syllabus for DU MA English Entrance 2019

The majority of the questions for Delhi University’s MA English Entrance 2019 exam will come from following:

• Unseen passage and comprehension
• The History of English – from Chaucer to Current
• Literary Theory and Criticism
