Hey there!

They haven't specified that because it is mandatory to study mathematics and clear examination of the same in order to pursue Econimics honours from University of Delhi(except Jesus and Mary College which has two separate categories i.e maths and non maths). It has been their criteria for the longest time, not only for Economics honours but also for Bcom honours it is necessary to have mathematics in 12th grade.
