Canada has some of the top universities for studying.
For management programs in HR, you are required to have a good GMAT score along with an English proficiency test like TOEFL, IELTS, PTE etc.
You will need to check the individual universities for the programs and specializations they are offering.

But I'm from science background and is it necessary to give GMAT.

GMAT is used by most top business schools for management programs. It does not matter if you are from Science or arts background. IELTS is English language proficiency test. You have to score well in IELTS too.
