As per the eligibility criteria, aspiring candidates need to either secure at least 75% aggregate marks (for Gen Category) in the class XII (or equivalent)and 65% aggregate marks (for SC, ST and PwD candidates) or they should be in category-wise top 20-percentile in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board examination. This means that in order to be eligible for IIT admissions , the candidates need to fulfil either of the two eligibility requirements.
Therefore in your case, you are not eligible for advanced and top 20 percentile criteria.
Thank you.
Hello Aspirant, For sitting in JOSAA counselling i.e to geat seat in NIT's, IIIT's, IiT's, GFTI's, your percentage in board should be greater than 75% for General Category candidates and for SC/ST Candidate it should be above 65% or you should come in top 20 percentile of your board.
Top 20 percentile of any board is calculated by marks scored in five subjects which are
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Language subject
Any subject other than physics, chemistry, Mathematics, Language paper
If any body has taken 2 language paper then higher marks scored subject will be taken for calculating top 20 percentile.
Since your percentage is 63 % which is below 65% as you are a SC Candidate, so you should check top 20 percentile of your board.
