First, what will work for you is that you should give your SAT and ACT's and then do Btech in USA.

I wont suggest you to go for diploma if you want to go for study abroad. Also as per your question the ultimate goal is to do btech in mechanical. if you go for diploma then you will lack in mathematics section and it is one of the most important course if you want to study in USA.

For the first and foremost thing you need to decide whether you want to study B.Tech through diploma or +2. I would suggest you to Take diploma after your 10th. Complete your diploma here in India. Then plan for germany instead of USA. As you want to pursue Mechanical engineering course, Germany is famous for this course.
