I'm in wbbse boards and want to drop this year because my preparation is not well for scoring good marks.will it affect my career in future?

No , taking a drop year will not obstruct your chances at getting a good government job, as most exams for these jobs have the age limit criteria upto 30 years of age or above. So it will be best if you focus on your WBBSE examinations for now, prepare well for them and get a good score.


Some of the examinations for government recruitment and their criteria:

1. State Bank of India - Prabationary Officer, SBI PO Examinations:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in any stream or equivalent or appearing in final year from a State or Central recognised University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 21-30 years.

2. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection - Specialist Officer, IBPS SO Examination:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation/Post Graduation in relevant stream or equivalent State or Central recognised University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 20-30 years.

3. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection - Probationary Officer, IBPS PO Examination:

  • Candidates who have completed CA / Graduation in any stream or equivalent or appearing in final year from a State or Central recognised University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 20-30 years.
4. Reserve Bank Of India - Post falling under Grade B, RBI Grade B Examinations:
  • Candidates should have passed class 12th or Diploma or equivalent with min. 60% from a recognised Board.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 21-30 years.

5. Life Insurance Corporation - Assistant Administrator Officer, LIC AAO Examination:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in any stream or equivalent or appearing in final year from a State or Central recognised University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 20-30 years.
6. Sate Bank of India & Institute of Banking Personnel Selection - Clerk, SBI and IBPS Clerk Examination:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in relevant stream from a State or Central recognized University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 20-28 years.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of the Official and Local language.
  • Candidates should be able to read, write and speak the English language.

7. Indian Railway Examination conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) - Non-Technical and Technical Posts:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in concerned subject from a State or Central recognized University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 18-32 years.

8. Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) - Teacher vacancies in Government schools/colleges:

  • It is conducted by Central Government and States like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Assam.
  • The applicant should have completed Bachelor Degree in any stream from a recognized University with minimum 50% (applicant belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH will get relaxation of 5% ) and Diploma in Elementry Education (2 Years) from an Institute recognized by N.C.T.E/Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

9. Staff Selection Commision - Exminer, Excise, Inspector, Auditor, SSSC CGL Examination:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in relevant stream or equivalent or appearing in final year from a State or Central recognized University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 20-30 years.

10. Union Public Service Commission - IAS, IPS, IFS, UPSC Civil Services Examinations:

  • Candidates who have completed Graduation in any stream or appearing in final year from a State or Central recognized University can apply.
  • The age of candidates should be in between 21-32 years.
