While admission to 21 central and 15 state affiliated IHMs are granted through the all India level National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Enterance Examination (NCHM JEE), applying for a few other national, state, university level hotel management entrance examination is a safe bet for candidates in terms of increasing their admission options.

2. IIHM eCHAT:
The test is conducted to offer admission to qualifying candidates on basis of their performance in online test, personal interview, group discussion, and candidates’ preference to any one of IIHM campus from its seven sister campuses located in different states.

- Course duration is 3 years.
3. State Examinations:
- UPSEE BHMCT: It is conducyed by Uttar Pradesh state for Hotel Management courses at 13 participating institutes located in Uttar Pradesh.
- MAH HM CET: It is an examination conducted to offer admissions to qualifying candidates for four years duration of full time undergraduate Hotel Management & Catering Technology course. The offered course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and will be offered by government institutes, government aided or unaided, and University Departments of institutes located in Maharashtra State.

NCHMCT-JEE
(National Council For Hotel Management And Catering Technology).This is mainly for admission in IHMs and having 8124 seats..Maximum marks is 200 which includes 50 for service aptitute,30 for GK /GS, 60 for english,30 for reasoning and 30 for quant. Eligibility is 12th pass with english subject.
IPU ENTRANCE TEST
This entrance test is for 120 seats in a single college in GGSIPU(Guru Govind Singh Indraprasth University).Eligibility is 50% in 12th .Maximum marks is 150 which includes GK/GS,English,Quant and Reasoning
