HBTU is a very reputed collegee in Uttar Pradesh. When it comes to academics, it has decent to very qualified faculty with years of teaching experience. Workshops and laboratories are fairly good and well equipped. The decent number of students get on campus placements at a fairly good package along with many who get placed off campus. It has a good culture due to which many students prepare and clear exams such as CAT, GATE, IES to name a few.

But when compared to its counterparts (government technical institutes) it lags behind in a lot of fields. The infrastructure of the college is not up to the mark. The college has no technical clubs and there is little assistance regarding such matters. The technology and laboratories here also needs to be updated. Also, there is no wifi in the campus.

A lot development work is going on since it became a university. But it seems a little slow paced.

All in all HBTU makes for a decent government funded college with a lot to improve upon. It will definitely be a good choice over a private institute but no match to an IIT or some NITs

If you are getting HBTU (CSE ) college then it is very good because it is  the no 1 college of UP(except IIT KANPUR,IIT BHU) . Infrastructure is bad at HBTI Kanpur but professors are good.

HBTU will be definitely a good choice over very private institute and some of the NITs.
