Practice Questions: Legal Reasoning | Quantitative | Criminal Law
Hi,
You almost have two years for the preparation of CLAT exam and this much time is more than enough to qualify the exam.
Firstly, I'm giving you the overview of the exam pattern. CLAT is an offline test for admissions to undergraduate law programmes including BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB and BSc LLB in 21 National Law Universities (NLUs).
The exam is conducted in offline mode and there are total 200 questions of one mark each.
Multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam.
One mark would be awarded for every correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect attempt.
As per the CLAT syllabus, questions in the exam are asked from the following sections-
English and comprehension
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability)
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
Logical Reasoning
Legal Aptitude
Coming to the preparation part, you will have to make a proper study-plan. Since you are in class 11th, you should strategize it in a way that you can complete the entire CLAT syllabus in six months and devote the rest of the time in revising the concepts and applying the facts along with your regular academic classes. In class 12th, you will have to focus on your class 12th board examination also.
You can break down the entire preparation in three parts: Conceptualisation, Application and Test.
Focus on clearing the basic concepts first then apply the concepts for solving problems and then practice tests to analyze your preparation.
For the books, I would suggest that you can refer to the 2019 edition books. For the General Knowledge I would say, it is a vast subject. You just can't cover everything and complete it. You should keep yourself updated with the current affairs of past one year while learning the static portions.
For GK, you will have to refer to the 2020 edition books also. You will have to revise the GK notes regularly during your two-year CLAT preparation.
Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any other queries.
Good Luck!
