Hi Koustubh.
The syllabus AILET and other entrances examination is similar to that of CLAT. So if you prepare for CLAT the syllabus of other entrances automatically gets covered you do not need to study anything different.
But due to the slight differences make sure you go through the Previous year question papers of the other entrances to know which area you need to focus on more for that particular exam.
There is no need to study different material for CLAT and AILET. Both of them will be cleared by studying similar material. However there are minor differences in the paper pattern and questions difficulty in both of them. While CLAT has a bit liberal approach to it, AILET is more stern. AILET requires more time based strategising and practicing than CLAT.
Talking section wise, English in AILET is a slight more moderate level than CLAT. So that must be kept in mind while preparing. The antonyms, synonyms, comprehension reading, parajumbles can make you think for a while when you go through its previous years papers.
Coming to the GK section, there are no major differences but you must take into consideration the pattern followed in the previous years. Science and static GK get a prominent place in AILET. Also on the contrary, in 2016 AILET asked all current GK questions, with no static questions.
Next up is reasoning section, where the critical reasoning needs much practice and there must be a set approach to it. This will only come through practice.
In the legal section, AILET has proved that the reasoning questions might be of moderate level. But the legal knowledge questions may be recent or very detailed old ones. An extensive knowledge is required to crack it.
Maths in AILET is not very difficult and doable. This section will be almost similar to CLAT Maths. So here the preparation of CLAT will be enough for you.
Bear in mind the fact that AILET has less time and more questions. Reading skills must be strong to crack AILET. I would sum up by saying that AILET requires a much thorough understanding, practice and approach than CLAT does.
Hope this helps. All the best.
