Hello

It's completely understandable to feel stressed when balancing multiple exams. Here's  few tips that might help manage the pressure :

1. Prioritise Tasks : Focus on what’s most urgent—your boards first . Once you are done with them , you can fully shift your attention to NIFT .

2. Create a Study Schedule :  Break down your time between board exam preparation and NIFT . Dedicate certain hours to each and keeping balance so that one doesn’t overwhelm the other .

3. Stay Organised : Use planners or study apps to track your progress and break tasks into smaller , manageable chunks .

4. Practice Self-Care : Don’t neglect your well-being take breaks , get enough sleep and try to relax when needed .

5. Mindfulness : Stay positive and remind yourself that it’s okay to feel stressed but you can manage it with planning and patience .

Create a Realistic Timetable

Board Exam Focus : Since your boards are near , dedicate a major chunk of your day to studying for them . Set a side specific times for NIFT , even if it's just 1or2 hours a day .

NIFT Preparation : Practice sketching , visualizing concepts or going through previous year papers during your breaks or after completing board study sessions . This will ensure you are making progress in both areas .

It's ok to be overwhelmed when you have to give NIFT entrance alongwith your board examination.

However you must decide which one to prioritise, and by how much, you have to divide the studying time. Example, 2 hours NIFT and 3 hours Boards or 3 hours NIFT and 2 hours Boards.

Solve a lot of sample papers and previous year questions for practice.

All the best!

Hi Siva

Balancing NIFT and board exams is challenging but manageable with a plan. Prioritize boards, as they are foundational, and allocate specific hours for NIFT prep. Use weekends or holidays for intensive NIFT practice. Focus on important areas like General Ability Test (GAT) and drawing. Consider coaching or online resources for guidance. Practice time management and take breaks to avoid burnout. Stay organized and maintain a positive mindset to handle the pressure effectively.

I hope to have answered your query

Hello,

Here’s a clear roadmap to balance your NIFT preparation and board exams:

Prioritize and Plan:

  • Analyze the syllabus for both NIFT and boards to identify overlapping topics.
  • Create a timetable allocating dedicated hours for NIFT preparation and boards.

Divide Study Hours:

  • Spend mornings on creative tasks (sketching, design) for NIFT.
  • Use afternoons/evenings for board subjects as they require theory retention.

Focus on Key Areas:

  • For NIFT: Prioritize GK, aptitude, and creative skills .
  • For boards: Focus on high-weightage chapters first.

Practice Smartly:

Stay Consistent and Healthy:

  • Take breaks to avoid burnout and manage stress with meditation.
  • Remember quality over quantity; stick to the schedule.

Best of Luck !

NIFT exam is a gateway for various undergraduate and postgraduate fashion and design course for aspiring designer and fashion professional . First you should focus more on the boards to get the marks to meet the eligibility criteria for NIFT. If you don't meet the minimum eligibility, then there is no use of NIFT preparation. Once, you are confident, you can get certain level of marks in board, then you can start to prepare for NIFT exam. To know about NIFT preparation, visit How to prepare for NIFT 2025

Hello,

Balancing NIFT exam preparation with board exams can be challenging but manageable with proper planning. Start by creating a schedule that allocates specific time slots for both.

Focus on NIFT-specific sections like creativity, drawing, and general knowledge for at least 1-2 hours daily, while dedicating the rest of your time to board subjects.

Use weekends for full-length mock tests and refining your weaker areas. Prioritize NCERTs for boards, as they form the foundation, and practice sample papers for time management.

Stay organized, take regular breaks to avoid burnout, and remind yourself that consistency matters more than overworking. Seek guidance if needed.
