Hey hi,

NEET exam can be cracked without going to coaching also. But that needs your dedication and hardwork.

If you wish you can go to any coaching class.

If you are planning to prepare from home, you have to do 2 things, 1. Time management, 2.Hard work

1. Time management

You have to allot time to prepare for NEET. But you should not forget your 12th. You should also concentrate on 12th syllabus also.

For NEET there as there are 4 subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology you have to allot time for each subject. Let's say 1 week or 2 weeks for each subject. Likewise you have to complete all the 4 subjects.

2. Hard work

You have to study very hard for the exam. Atleast 4 to 5 hours per day. You should do it on regular basis. It would take atleast 4 to 5 months to study the whole syllabus.

You have to be smart in studying. First prepare the important topics and then the others..

You can also check for previous year questions for the model.. even you can enroll in mock exams. This will be helpful in assessing your preparation and planning further.

All the best...

Hello Gautham

I studied state board in Tamil Nadu. Also I Was simultaneously preparing for pmts (pre medical tests). I am aware of the difficulties u might face in difference between cbse portions and state board. Plus for entrance both 11th and 12th portions are included. We need to accept the fact and prepare accordingly...

Do's

-Correlate your state board topics with  cbse notes( coaching center).. Or make ur own

-Since ur in 12th assuming Board exams in 4-5months follow the above pattern with 12th syllabus

-Ask ur friends(current /senior) studying in cbse schools-NCERT bks mainly biology n inorganic chemistry. They might have highlighted important points

-It's difficult to go through the whole bk

-Restrict yourself to Ncert, n ur coaching institute bk for preparing

-Solve old  NEET/AIPMT, JIPMER, AIIMS Qn papers  at least past 10years

-Also saves your time in mcq preparation in your boards

(in physics, chemistry where you'll be solving qns easily, compared to others)

-After ur boards u will have roughly 1month,use that time effectively for 11th portions

-Know which is important topic wise

-Create a formula bk for physics, memorize and you can't be deriving in exams due to time insufficiency

-Each qn=1min, Focus on Biology carriers 50% of the paper

If ur thorough - Bio-45 min for 90 qns. Have Strong hold in theory

Chemistry-45 min for 45 qns., physics - 1hr 30min

Don'ts

-Reduce Procrastination

-Unlike state board, Be aware of - ve marking

-Answer what u know, There will be 1000s in the same mark

Strictly follow ur schedule,

Lastly, it's a choice b/n state board and Neet, since the latter is mandatory,I'm sharing my experience

I decided to take entrance exams, though I was unable to cope state board, It's important to pass ur board exams with min.60% in each subject, in some states 75%.I concentrated in ncert syllabus though I secured 73% in state board, I'm a second yr med student now

Explain ur parents about ur aim,As I said it's ur choice

Or many of my friends dropped a year to prepare for Neet and cleared them, you may not know how  an extra year may cost you .

5months of handwork would definitely help you, only thing is u have to push yourself. Best wishes....

Hi Gautham!

I believe that you can succeed without coaching, provided you put all your efforts, determination and commitment to crack NEET. Few tips for the same:

  • First and foremost, manage your time efficiently. Plan your studies. Make a schedule of the topics you want to complete for the particular day, so that you don't waste time on deciding what to do. Don't keep the schedule rigid.
  • Ensure that you are thorough with State syllabus and NCERT prescribed textbooks. The only difference between these two is that NCERT has just a few more concepts. Reading NCERT syllabus would be similar to revising the basics learnt in State syllabus. It is essential to build a good foundation.
  • Towards the end of your preparation(after Boards), I recommend that you solve papers in a mock exam format and analyse your papers after that, outlining strengths and weaknesses. These questions are seldom repeated, their main purpose is to develop time management skills. For analysis, I used to write the page[for biology] and the concept[for physics and chemistry] next to each question as a review. Check out the link for sample papers: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-sample-paper

Hope this answers your question

Dont waste your Time.

Make use of the time the best...

Dedicate 3 to 6 months completly for neet prepration..

Solve as Many as previous questions you can...

Thats your School issue...  The fact is that Neet cant be cracked with Coaching of one Day...

It needs exclusive preparation For Minimum of 3 to 6 months....
