Hi Mohammed,

If you have interested in the medical field and want to become a Doctor in the future then you have to prepare for the NEET exam. It is an All India level examination in which students from all across India participate for admission in medical seats for MBBS, BAMS, BDS, etc.

The exam is divided into three sections of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Each section carries 180, 180, and 360 marks respectively. In total the exam is of 720 marks. Students seeking admissions in government medical colleges have to score a minimum of 550+ marks for UNRESERVED category. The exam is conducted in the month of May every year.

This is an overview of the exam, for more details refer to the following links:- https://medicine.careers360.com/exams/neet/articles & https://ntaneet.nic.in/Ntaneet/Welcome.aspx

For the preparation part:

  • You must have to have clear basics of you are planning onto clear NEET. Study NCERT textbooks thoroughly, they have almost 10 - 20 direct questions in the main examination.
  • Also, to clear any national level examination one of the most important thing you have to keep in mind is to be consistent. Consistency is the key to clearing the examination. If you want to clear the exam, keep on practicing daily questions.
  • Try to solve previous year question papers.
  • If you can afford, then join coaching. They will be really helpful. However, the most important thing is the " BASICS". Do not let go of the basics. It is very important as no coaching will be able to help you if you do not keep up your basics.

This seems to be the very best time to start preparing for NEET OR AIIMS.Now depending upon the type of student you are, based on your idea of self preparation or of joning coaching institutes your time table should be crystal clear. You should have a clear picture of your aim.

●During 11th class devote all your time to build concepts. Not merely read them, rather try to enjoy them.

●In physics and chemistry regularly solve numericals keeping pace with your school studies( if you are self preparing) or coaching institute.

●Those biology chapters which need your logic and understanding, should be well gripped by your brain. If unable to get the concepts at any point of time, never hesitate to ask your teachers.

●Those bio chapters needing a bit of mugging up should be revised and recalled again and again at frequent intervals.

●Draw diagrams of important cycles by yourself in botany.

●Don’t make a time table based on how many hours you are going to read a particular subject, rather make it like you have to finish the particular part or chapter that day, howmuch time that may take.

●If possible try to finish some 12th class chapters which are related to some 11th class course along side. That will help you to grasp and remember concepts quite easily.

●From the very beginning of class 11th, subscribe to monthly magazines. There are many like mtg, arihant etc.Choose yourself according to your interest.I found the question banks of arihant magazines good but answering portion was better in mtg.For self preparing students mtg is a blessing, what i feel and have experienced myself.

●If you have joined a coaching institute, the daily tests should be taken seriously.Tasks given should be completed the same night.

●Coaching people will be easily giving weekly or monthly tests. Those preparing by themselves should go for free online mock tests or can even buy test series by leading institutes.MTG NCERT AT YOUR FINGER TIPS is also equally beneficial( mostly in biology.Ipersonally didn’t like its chemistry or physics for numericals, though conceptual questions were good)

●In 12th class you have boards along with NEET. so along with objective preparation a little time should be given to subjective answers. If some one is taking coaching, the last three months of dec, jan, feb are more than sufficient for BOARD preparation, provided, he has grasp over concepts. Those preparing by themselves also need not worry.Side by side effort will help.

●As many mocktests as possible should be taken.

●There are some chapters requiring more focus not because they are tough, but bcz they are mark fetching due to repetition in question patterns.

●11th- phy= thermal physics, oscillation and waves, fundamental physics and vectors, fluid dynamics

11th-chem= chemical bonding, periodic classification, equilibrium,p block elements, redox reaction

12th-phy=optics, nuclear physics, electronics,EMI and AC

12th-chem= coordination chemistry, chemical kinetics,d and f block elements, p block elements, aldehydes and ketones, chem in everyday life

For bio almost all chapters are important.Still genetics, ecology and human and plant physiology shoyld be read properly.

To give your brain little relaxation, sometimes dont forget to embrace the romantic words from novels of Chetan Bhagat, or Durjoy Datta, or whoever writer you like.Dont stop your extra curricular activities of singing dancing debating quizzing etc etc.And as AIIMS comes to the point, you need to get through the last two to four months news before AIIMS.practice a little mental ability problems if you are very very very poor,or else everything will be fine.

●Appear all the olympiads, and competitive exams during these two years. They will help you sharpen your thinking capacity or atleast give you numerous experiences of exam hall.

hope you find it helpful

thanks
