You need to be atleast MSc Microbiology from arom a recognised University in India or abroad. For Research, you need to be NET qualified and then you can get research assistant job opportunities in chemical, biological laboratories. Research Areas. Viral Pathogens. Bacterial Pathogens. Eukaryotic Pathogens. Innate Immunity. Adaptive Immunity. Cell Biology of Infection. Microbiome.
For a post-graduate or a master's degree in microbiology, here are the eligibility criteria:

There is ample opportunities to work in research lab or research organizations as microbiologist. Minimum requirement to get job in research organization is masters, however, PhD is highly desirable.
