Mathematics:-

1) Alpha and Beta are the roots of the quadratic polynomial p (x) = x 2 - (k + 6)x + 2 (2k - 1).
Find the value of k, if Alpha plus Beta is equal to 1/2 multiplied by alpha-beta.
2) Use Euclid's division algorithm to find H.C.F. of 870 and 225.
3) An umbrella has 10 ribs that are equally spaced. Assuming the umbrella to be
a flat circle of radius 40 cm, find the area between two consecutive ribs of the
umbrella.
4) The angle of depression of a car parked on the road from the top of a 150 m
high tower is 30°. Find the distance of the car from the tower (in meters).

5) In a seminar, the number of participants in Hindi, English, and Mathematics are 60, 84, and 108 respectively. Find the minimum number of rooms required if in each room the same number of participants are to be seated and all of them
being in the same subject.

A. Calculate: (i) its power and (ii) its resistance when it is in use.
4)We hear and read about female foeticide which is a wrong practice. In
some families, be it rural or urban, females are tortured for giving birth to a
girl child. They do no t seem to understand the scientific reason behind the
birth of a boy or a girl. In your opinion, the approach of society towards the
mother in this regard is correct or not? Explain the scientific reason.
