Hello Nikhil

No you will be not eligible .

As per the criteria you have to secure 75 %marks in each of the main subject also.

And one think more with 84 percentile score your approximately rank will be more than 1.5 lakhs.

And with this rank it will be not possible to get admission in NIT .

So I would suggest you to work for the upcoming exam because there are many colleges which have a minimum criteria of 65 % .

But you have to improve your jee percentile for good college ( nearly 97+ percentile ).

So good luck.

Harsh i have got 73% percent in 2018 boards.. And i have got 42 marks out of 70in physics and i think i will fail in improvement exam in physics and i will get 90 plus marks in chem and maths.. So i want to know that m i elligible for nit if i score 95 above percentile in jee mains april if i fail in improvement exam in physics only coz they say the previous marks will  be added.  So m i elligible.

Criteria for admission is
Minimum 75% overall
and in each of the main subject also you have to score minimum 75 % marks .
So if your score is not enough in physics than you are not eligible to take admission in NIT.

You can attach your improvement results of math and chemistry along with previous mark sheet ( in which you score 80 in physics).
Than you will be eligible.

hii,

for getting admission in NITs/IITs ,you have to pass in  all the subjects of 12th board.

if you have given improvement exam and you are assuming that you will fail in Physics then you should wait for the result.

because many students think that he/she will fail in Physics but finally they pass.because every one know 12th physics is somehow tougher.so examiner check copies very loosely.

there are also some more eligibility criteria for getting admission in NIT.
