In 1st round of counseling if I don't get seat according to my 1st preference then will I get a seat on 2nd or 3rd preference?

Seat allotment depends on your category, merit score, seat availability and cut off. For each branch and category there is a different cut off. Suppose that your first preference is some x branch and your second and third preferences are y and z respectively and the cut off rank for X, Y and Z branch is 1000, 1500 and 5000 respectively and your merit rank is 1200 then you may have chances of getting seat in second preferred branch or 3rd preferred branch based on your category and seat availability. In other case even if you have scored the required cut off rank but there are no seats then you may get seat.
So, it is difficult to predict if you will be allotted a seat in 2nd or 3rd preferred choices.
